KARACHI, April 8: The High Court of Sindh will pay judicial allowance to its officers and staff, including those of district and subordinate courts.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the administration committee of the SHC according to which judicial allowance at the rate of 20 per cent of the present basic pay would be paid to the officers and staff.

The Registrar of the SHC, Abdul Ghafoor Memon, asked the provincial secretary finance to allocate an additional Rs3.9 million for officers and Rs5.92m for other staff a year for the purpose.

About payment of the allowance to the employees of district and sub- ordinate courts, the registrar said in his letter to the secretary finance that “concerned branch of the SHC has been directed to calculate exact figures” in respect of these employees, which would be communicated to him soon.

The secretary finance was also requested to arrange the necessary funds at the earliest.—APP
