HYDERABAD, Jan 2 Sindh Minister for Social Welfare Nargis N. D. Khan has said that the murderers of Benazir Bhutto will soon be unearthed by a UN investigation team and they will be awarded exemplary punishment.

She was addressing an open katchehry at the office of the DCO in Tando Allahyar.

The minister said that blood of Benazir Bhutto would not be allowed to go in vain and her mission would be pursued and accomplished at all cost.

On the complaint of lady health workers regarding their meager salaries and lack of facilities, the minister said that the federal government had decided to increase salaries and other facilities for the lady health workers and this decision would be implemented very soon.

Responding to the complaints of massive unemployment, she said that under the Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Programme, a large number of people were being provided with training for adjustment in different departments.

She advised the people to go through the advertisements and submit their applications with the elected representatives or at the party offices and assured that this process would continue. She directed the DCO to release the remaining budget of the health department immediately for the treatment of hepatitis patients.

She announced that the offices of the social welfare departments and vocational centers would also be established at the taluka levels to resolve the social issue facing the people at their doorsteps.

She said that the government was striving hard for the promotion of education; all the closed schools were being reopened to ensure universal education. The minister said “We are the servants of the people and that is why we are holding open katchehries to resolve the problems of the people at their doorsteps”.

On the demand of the people, she said that she would ask the Sindh chief minister to merge Nasarpur union council with Tando Allahyar district as it had always remained a part of this district. She said that she would make efforts to expedite completion of the under construction school for disabled children.

Later, talking to the newsmen, the minister said that there was no grouping or differences in the Pakistan People's Party and it stood united.

Responding to a question posed by some journalists regarding fake NGOs, she said that there were 7,000 NGOs, which were supposed to work for the welfare of the people, but made it clear that the registration of the non-functional and fake NGOs would be cancelled.

She said that some embezzlement had taken place in the Citizens Community Board's accounts during the tenure of the previous government and such cases were being sent to the Anti-corruption Establishment.
