HYDERABAD, March 1 District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput, also the convener of Hyderabad Spring Flower Show-2009, has constituted an organizing committee and nine sub-committees to organize the show in a befitting manner.

He constituted the committees at a meeting regarding arrangements of flower show which is to be held from March 12 to 15 at Nursery Park, Latifabad-6.

The organizing committee will jointly headed by DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri as chairman and Hyderabad Development Authority director-general Javed Junejo as convener.

The sub-committees will deal with technical issues, accounts, stall registration, exhibition, transport, reception, souvenir and publicity and gifts and awards.

The meeting decided that the recommendations of sub-committees would be submitted to the district nazim for approval.

Mr Rajput directed the heads and members of the sub-committees to finalize their assignments and submit reports by March 5. He asked them to submit their requirements so that bottleneck if any could be removed. He directed the stall registration sub-committee to get in touch with participating organisations and get the registration of stalls completed by March 8 so that arrangements for the stalls could be finalised in the remaining four days.

The meeting decided to present cash awards to motivate the participants and promote floriculture.

The naib nazim asked the director, beautification, HDA, Masood Jumani, to prepare a site plan and submit the same in the next meeting.

He said that because of previous practice, the people of Hyderabad and its adjourning areas were excited about the flower show and directed the sub-committees to come up to the expectation of the people. He said that it could be achieved only with the spirit of team.

He said that due to development and social, cultural and sports activities, Hyderabad had become a model district of Sindh.

The nazims of different union councils, EDO revenue Syed Barkat Rizvi, EDO agriculture Shahabuddin Siddiqui, EDO community development Aijaz Talpur, the district officer forest and others attended the meeting.
