HYDERABAD, March 27 Holding of a jirga by the Sindh University for settling a dispute between students and employees was protested by the members of Women Action Forum, civil society activists and employees of Sindh, Liaquat and Mehran universities.

They staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday in protest against the holding of jirga.

Amar Sindhu, Irfana Mallah and others said that it was an irony that jirgas were being held by uneducated tribal chiefs at the campus to resolve university problems.

They said this speaks volumes about the inefficiency of the university administration and indifferent attitude of the Sindh government to resolve the problems of university.

They blamed the jirga system of increasing the crime and lawlessness in Sindh.
