National Hockey Championship postponed

LAHORE Due to the 2010 World Cup preparation, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has postponed the 57th National Hockey Championship, which was scheduled to be held from Dec 18, 2009 to Jan 2, 2010 here at the National Hockey Stadium.

The World Cup will be held in New Delhi, India from Feb 28 to March 13.

A PHF spokesman said the postponement of the national championship was necessitated in view of the long duration of training camps of the national squad for the World Cup.

The championship now will be held after the World Cup.
