ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Tennis Federation on Tuesday postponed the upcoming International Junior Tennis Championship 2009 which was scheduled to be held in Karachi from March 16-21.

 

President of the PTF Senator Dilawar Abbas told Dawn 'We have requested the ITF to postpone the event due to the terrorist incident which took place in Lahore on Tuesday with Sri Lanka team.

 

The tennis tournament will now be played in October-November, he said.

 

Dilawar added that several junior players from Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India were scheduled to appear in the six-day event'. Dilawar pointed out that they (PTF) were yet to receive the entries for the international event.
