GUJRANWLA Seven people were killed and another 22 sustained serious injuries in an accident on Sheikhupura Road near Tetlay Aali on Wednesday.

Reports said a coach, which was heading towards Gujranwala from Faisalabad, hit a roadside tree after its driver lost control over the steering. Resultantly, Mukhtar Ahmad, Anser Mahmood, Muhammad Aslam and Arif died instantly while Hafiz Fiaz, Ali Arshad and Mumtaz Bibi succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the injured to DHQ Hospital.

Reports said Luqman Butt was staying with his second wife when his son Usama, from his first wife, came there and opened fire on his father, killing him on the spot.

Police have registered a case against the absconding accused.

Tehsil Municipal Officer Khurram Mehmood Warraich said that the housing schemes declared illegal were Awais Qarni income tax office; Asia Park, Alipur Road; Makkah City, Aroop Road; Rashid Colony, Alipur bypass; Al Majeed Town, Alipur Road; Johar Town, Aroop Road and Gulshan Rehman Town, Lohianwala.
