That the NWFP police and investigating agencies have got irrefutable evidence during the interrogation of terrorists, including a suicide bomber, arrested in connection with the Charsadda bombing, which says that the bombing was planned in Swat right under the Fazlullah group — that too during the Nizam-i-Adl peace time — is a very serious matter.

According to the police, the plan was made in Swat but the Baituallah Mehsud and Maulvi Nazir groups were to own the responsibility of the bombing so that nobody takes notice of the Fazlullah group, courtesy the peace deal. Many more attacks could have been made, if the arrests did not have taken place.

This shows that Fazlullah or Baitullah are using the peace deal as a cover to conduct their terrorist acts and that they are not serious about the peace deal. That either Maulana Sufi Muhammad is being used or he has shown his true face now after declaring the Pakistan Constitution as against Shariah and that he does not recognise the High Courts or the Supreme Court.

In addition, they have invited Osama bin Laden and other Al Qaeda leadership to come to Swat and have safe sanctuary there. This is highly intriguing and an open challenge to the government and state of Pakistan. There should be no doubt that the people of Swat and Buner are kept hostage to the terrorists and what they were expecting from Nizam-i-Adl was actually a cover under which they are planning to further expand their designs.

The intentions of the ANP government and the centre, especially the parliament, were good and it was hoped that a good would come out from Sufi and Fazlullah, which is the other way round.

This is time to decide. If these butchers succeed, the people of the other areas would be held hostage by them. The people, the political parties, journalists and the government are now of consensus that there should be a decisive action and the evil should be eliminated once and for all.

The Charsadda bombing report should be made public and the people and the media should be shown exactly what was behind it all. The media should be cognizant, and targeting the government and security forces should be stopped. An effective media campaign needs to be launched to expose their real motives and the enemy hands behind them. Enough is enough.
