KARACHI, Feb 25: Emad Hanzala of the Karachi Grammar School won the English debate in the bilingual declamation contest organized by the St Joseph’s Government College for Women, in connection with its students week, on Tuesday.

Asma Saeed Khan of the AMI secured second position, followed by Zarina Riaz of FAST.

Abdul Sami of IBA secured first position in the Urdu section of the contest.

Sabika Rizvi of SZABIST was declared second. She was followed by Harris of Sir Syed College.

A total of 23 colleges participated in the bilingual contest.

Senator-elect Nisar Memon, the chief guest, praised the performance of the youngsters who took part in the competition.

“I was deeply impressed by the quality of thought process, presentation and the command over language of these participants,” he remarked.

The Principal of the College, Prof Dr Tanveer Anjum, distributed the prizes among the winners.—APP
