KARACHI, Feb 19: The Federal Investigation Agency’s immigration wing off-loaded 19 passengers, allegedly going to Glasgow under the cover of official members of Pakistan Net Ball Association.

The FIA staff intercepted seven men and 12 women boarding a South African flight, LX-247 at 11pm, when an almost blind lady, Mrs Mariam, claimed to be the assistant manager of the team, during the routine inquiry.

The team were off-loaded and handed over to the FIA’s Passport Cell, where Deputy Director, Mohammad Malik interrogated the woman, who disclosed that her parents had contacted the president of the Net Ball Association and she was actually going for eye treatment.

The team members belong to Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Hyderabad and Karachi.

The president of the association is reported to be one Abdul Razzak, Deputy Superintendent of Sindh police, posted at Hyderabad.
