LAHORE, May 6: Showing all-round skills and better technique, martial art experts from Wapda won the titles of the national karate and national junior karate championships on Monday.

Wapda scooped seven gold and one bronze medals to accumulate 170 points to enjoy upper hand in the championship, which was held under the auspices of the Pakistan Karate Federation.

Army was second by winning two gold, six silver and one bronze medals to collect 135 points.

KP clinched the third position by capturing one gold, one silver and five bronze medals with 60 points.

Mohammad Ramzan of Wapda won two golds in below 84kg and team kumite.

Baz Mohammad also won two golds in below 75kg and team kumite. POA president retired Lt Gen Arif Hasan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.—APP
