KARACHI, Jan 31: As expected Karachi Greens cruised to an easy innings and three-run victory over Nawabshah in the Cornelius Trophy match at Nawabshah Stadium on Friday.

Even a late recovery by home side on the final day of the three-day proved futile. Having resumed the day at a hopeless 96 for five, Nawabshah did well to reach 223 in their second innings due to a fighting knock of 59 by Waqar Ahmed.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Rawalpindi: Rain denied Islamabad what was a good opportunity for them to beat Lahore Greens in their match which ended in a draw at the KRL Stadium.

Islamabad were in a dominating position having gained a 114- run lead in the match on Wednesday’s opening day of the three-day match. However rain prevented play on Thursday and Friday.
