KARACHI, April 18: The quartet of Daniyal Hashmi, Ahmed Zaheer, Aneeq Waqar and Mustafa Tariq completed the quarter-finals line-up in the individual events of the third AKU Inter-university boys’ tennis tournament by registering victories over their respective opponents at the AKU courts on Wednesday evening.

Daniyal carved out a 6-0, 7-5 win over Jaffer Hussain while Ahmed inflicted a 6-4, 7-5 defeat on M. Ahsan. Mustafa was home 6-1, 6-0 while Aneeq was stretched to limits by Umair Sheikh before emerging victorious on super tie-break 6-1, 3-6, 10-8.

Meanwhile, Iqra University chalked up a magnificent 4-1 victory over AKU Greens in the team event contest.
