KARACHI, Jan 31: The Malir Development Authority (MDA) has refunded money through 9685 cheques issued to applicants for plots in the MDA Housing Scheme, according to the information provided by the MDA on the directive of Sindh Ombudsman Justice (rtd) Haziqul Khairi.

Till January 23, a total of 18,330 applications were received for the refund of deposited amount, against which 9685 cheques have been issued.

At present 2200 acres of land are available with the MDA for its housing scheme-1 for allotment through ballot.

The DG MDA had given an undertaking to refund the money to the allottees within one month and submit an up-to-date list in the first week of every month regularly to the Ombudsman’s Secretariat—APP
