LANDI KOTAL, April 4: At least three militants were killed and some of their hideouts destroyed when fighter jets bombed their positions in Tirah valley on Thursday.

Sources said air sorties were conducted at the Ghaibi Neeka area of Sipah and the Nakai area of Malikdinkhel which targeted hideouts of the Taliban and Lashkar-i-Islam.

Two LI activists and a Talib were killed in the bombing.

In Bara, a man was killed when his car fell into Bara river after he was fired at by security forces.

Sources said the forces opened fire at the vehicle near Alamgudar early on Thursday morning when its driver did not stop after being signalled to do so.

Driver Khan Wazir died on the spot and his vehicle was badly damaged.

Meanwhile, planes bombed suspected positions in the Kotkhel area of Orakzai Agency on Thursday and killed eight militants.

Security officials said that three hideouts were pounded in the area adjacent to Khyber Agency.
