ISLAMABAD, Oct 2: Pakistan has assured its fullest technical assistance in modernisation of Ukrainian railway system.

Talking to the Ukraine Charge d’affaires in Islamabad, Voledyr Promom Arenkov, who called on him on Tuesday, the federal minister for communication and railways, Javed Ashraf Qazi, said the government had taken steps to develop the railway system.

He stated that there was a vast capacity for promoting mutual cooperation in the railways sector. He said Pakistan was manufacturing locomotives and coaches.

The Ukrainian diplomat sought technical cooperation in the sector. He said his country was in the process of modernising its railways system and would be eager to benefit from the expertise that Pakistan Railways had attained.

The minister assured the Ukrainian diplomat that Pakistan Railways would undertake every measure to provide help to Ukraine.
