KOHAT, March 30: The bodyguards of former MNA of Awami National Party, Khursheed Begum, were arrested and sent to lockup here on Saturday for displaying arms on the premises of court.

The former lawmaker visited the court of District and Sessions Judge Gohar Rehman to submit nomination papers for contesting elections from NA-14 constituency of the National Assembly.

The district and sessions judge is also district returning officer so candidates for the upcoming elections have to submit their nomination papers at his court.

The former lawmaker was accompanied by two police and as many private guards. The police were identified as Saifur Rehman and Fareed Shah.

Police also registered a case against the private guards of the former lawmaker — Faizullah and Sadiq.

The administration also withdrew private security and protocol from the former MNA.  —Correspondent
