LARKANA, March 20: The Mohenjodaro museum will be reopened for visitors and tourists from Thursday (March 21) after the closure of more than 70 days in the name of repair and renovation.

Sources in the department of culture told Dawn on Wednesday that renovation of the showcases of the museum, where artifacts were kept, had been started in the first week of January.

But it moved at a snail’s pace and at one juncture, the contractor who hailed from Karachi, had stopped the work, the sources said.

The repair and renovation work was carried out at the museum with Rs2 million, they said.

When contacted, curator of the museum Ghulam Hussain Burdi said that though some work was left to be done, the articles had been displayed in the showcases and the exhibition would be reopened for public from Thursday.
