KARACHI, Feb 7: A study fair was organised here on Thursday to allow students interested in pursuing their higher education in the UK a chance to directly interact with representatives of UK universities and learn about their admissions procedures and obtain other related information.

Over 30 universities from the United Kingdom, including the Queen Mary-University of London, the University of Manchester, Lancaster University, University of Warwick and University of Buckingham participated in the first UK study fair-2013 organised by the Global Education Fairs and Conferences, Britain, and supported by the UK Trade and Investment, Pakistan at a local hotel.

It was stated that the fair also offered a unique opportunity for universities and institutes in Pakistan to build strategic partnerships with the UK universities.

The director of operations, Middle East and Africa of Global Education Fairs and Conferences, Britain, Fiza Ahmed, said: “This is the first initiative of its kind and we are hopeful that the UK Study Fair-2013 will be beneficial for Pakistani students who are looking to study in the UK. We invite students to visit the fair and directly interact with top UK universities, find out what programmes they are offering and the admission procedures. We also like to take this opportunity to thank the universities participating to choose Pakistan as a destination for recruiting the brightest talent and providing a platform for potential students to find out about higher education prospects in the UK.”

British Deputy High Commissioner Francis Campbell, who is also the director for Trade and Investment Pakistan, said: “As more and more Pakistani students gain UK qualifications, they have a chance to contribute to the betterment of Pakistan.”
