WE have a culture of keeping unlicensed weapons because of illegal supply of arms and ammunition. On New Year’s night, I came out of my room as there was non-stop aerial firing which lasted some 40 minutes.

Is this the fault of the government which has allowed the relaxation to citizens to carry weapons for safety? We can see even high-school students carrying a pistol which reflects that how armed our society has become. In most cases, sons of feudal lords take two to three guards along with them to show how powerful they are. This is evident from the Shahzeb murder.

This is because parents do not keep an eye on their children. Is this the fault of the environment? Every individual should ponder over this serious issue.

We should put pressure on society to curb this menace while the government should take serious measures to stop the supply of illegal weapons so society remains clean of illegal arms and ammunition.
