I READ with interest the letter ‘Kalabagh dam: a solution’ (Jan 15). The writer has proposed the division of Punjab into four provinces to get a majority of provisional assemblies in favour of the Kalabagh Dam.

Instead of dividing Punjab into four provinces, the solution of the Kalabagh Dam has already been given by the Lahore High Court in its decision of Nov 29, 2012, after hearing several petitions and giving an opportunity to the federal government and Wapda.

The government was directed to build the Kalabagh Dam in order to put a stop to the violation of the fundamental rights of the people.

Mr Bhatti will do well to get the dam built by stressing upon the government to build the dam as early as possible.
