KOHAT, Nov 24: Provincial Minister for Housing Amjid Khan Afridi announced an irrigation scheme worth Rs230 million for Gumbat town of Kohat here on Saturday.

The minister accompanied by Minister of State Abbas Afridi and NA candidate Shamim Afridi was addressing a public gathering in Gumbat bazaar.

He said the Gumbat Degree College for Boys had been completed and its inauguration ceremony would be held soon.

He said the college would provide opportunity to youth of the locality to continue their education.

The provincial minister announced installation of five hand pumps immediately for the area to resolve the drinking water problem.

He said he had released Rs30 million for provision of gas facility to the area and work on this project would start in a week. —Correspondent
