ISLAMABAD, Nov 8: The head of Subh-e-Nau, Shahida Farooq, has said she will continue to serve tennis despite learning through the media that her NGO has been banned by the Pakistan Tennis Federation.

She added that no written communication had been sent to her by the PTF about the ban and she learnt about it only through the media.

“Most associations are not active for many years and if the PTF was to observe its own clause 35, then almost all of them would be banned,” she stated.

She said that her organisation had requested the PTF to rank these tournaments in the interest of the players since players would get a chance to feature in competitive ranking tournaments but in vain.

“None of PTF’s 14 affiliated units can match our performance, besides we have paid higher prize money to players over the last few years,” Shahida claimed.

Despite multiple attempts, no official of the PTF was available to clarify his position over the issues.
