RAWALPINDI: A local resident playing the Good Samaritan drops a box of Laddoos at a security check post in the Chaklala area, on Wednesday night.

The security officials accept the gift, without identifying the contents of the box.

Later, out of the blue, it dawns upon one security official to put the box of Laddoos through a metal detector test.

When the metal detecting machine begins to blink — oops — and sound out alarm bells, it sends everyone in a panic.

The bomb disposal squad equipped with all the US donated gadgetry and high gear arrive and cordon off the area around the box of Laddoos.

According to eye witnesses, the ordeal lasts more than 30 minutes. But after 30 minutes, after applying all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that are required in defusing a bomb, the bomb disposal squad is relieved to find that the box only contains sweet and mouthwatering Laddoos.

When the superintendent of police Potohar Division Haseeb Hussain Shah was contacted, he confirms that an unidentified man travelling in a luxury vehicle delivered a sweetmeat-box at the picket and later disappeared.
