ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Saturday issued a warning to owners of CNG stations who had halted the sale of CNG that their gas connections would be suspended if they failed to resume the sale, DawnNews reported.

Ogra sources said sale of CNG could not be brought to a standstill when electricity and gas were being duly provided.

They added that halting the sale of CNG would be considered illegal, adding that, such stations would lose their gas connections.

The sources moreover said that the required data to apprehend those violating Ogra directives would be obtained from the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

According to the Supreme Court’s directives, CNG station owners have been bound to selling CNG at the current rates until Nov 19, which is also the date of the next hearing of the case on CNG prices.

The All-Pakistan CNG Association has dissociated itself from the closure of CNG stations.

Ghias Abdullah Paracha, central chairman of the All-Pakistan CNG Association, said closure of CNG stations were acts of individual station owners.
