Man granted bail

PESHAWAR, Nov 2: A local court on Friday granted bail to a person charged with giving a bogus cheque of Rs17.7 million to another person.

The court presided over by judicial magistrate Ms Alia Ahsan Swati accepted bail petition filed by the accused, Arshid Shehzad, with the direction to him to furnish two sureties of Rs200,000 each. Advocate Huma Gul appeared for the petitioner and contended that the concerned police had not properly investigated the case. She stated the complainant in the case was a person who claimed to be the business partner of the petitioner. —Bureau Report
