Palestine cancel tour to Pakistan

KARACHI: Palestine's tour to Pakistan for two friendly football matches has been cancelled, a Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) press release issued on Sunday confirmed.

The Palestine national team were set to play two friendly matches between October 14-18 in Pakistan but the venue was yet to be confirmed.

According to the statement issued, the Sports Board of Punjab confirmed the availability of Punjab Stadium for the two matches very late due to which Palestine was forced to withdraw as they could not send a team on such a short notice.

Palestine also toured Pakistan last year for a two-match series which was played in Karachi and Lahore. The visitors won the series 1-0.

Pakistan is likely to tour Singapore in November as it would be difficult to arrange any other series, PFF's secretary general Ahmad Yar Lodhi was quoted as saying by a local newspaper.

so Sport Board of Punjab has ruined this series because they couldn't announce the availability earlier. Must be some lazy bunch of relatives and friends of our incompetent politicians.

Cancelled !!! Perhaps due to security reasons. Don't pretend and give more excuses. Everybody loves life, be it a palestinian or non palestinian.

Raja sabir Hojra Nawaz sharif near Quaid i Azam university Islamabad It is very sad news for footballer lovers in Pakistan,Palestine Football team tour has been cancelled due to non serious attitude towards this overwhelming game in the world.How Pakistan lift the standard of football if such non serious attitude is showed by concerning authorities in Pakistan,I extolled the great struggle of PFF for arranging the series but stadium is not available to execute the plan of PFF.How Pakistan origin based foreign players come to Pakistan and be a part of our playing side if same practice is carried on.I appeal to Government of Pakistan please show its real interest to lift the standard of football and support the PFF for arranging much more series of football matches with foreign countries.
