QUETTA: PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that Punjab stands with the Balochistan government in the recent floods that hit the province leaving tens of thousands of families homeless.

He said this while addressing party workers at Lehri house during his visit to the Dera Murad Jamali area of Naseerabad district.

“We realize the plight of about 0.7 millions masses in Naseerabad and Jaffarabad districts in the aftermath of the recent catastrophe,” he said adding all-out support would be extended to the affected people till the rehabilitation process completes in the flood-raved region.

Former Chief Minister Sindh Ghaus Ali Shah, Marvi Memon, PML-N Balochistan chapter president Mir Sanaullah Zehri, Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri were also present on the occasion.

The PML-N chief said that soon after the calamity hit the region, trucks carrying food and non-food items were dispatched to Balochistan, however, due to the suspension of roads, vehicles with supplies are stranded at Dera Ghazi Khan.

Nawaz Sharif on the occasion announced Rs 2 lakh in compensation to the each family who lost relatives in the floods. He suggested that Watan Cards, on the pattern of flood 2010, be issued to the flood-hit masses to mitigate their losses.
