SIALKOT, Sept 8: Ten armed men on Saturday turned the tables on a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team which raided a hideout to arrest a human trafficker at Daska’s Wahla village.

An FIA team, headed by Ghulam Husain, raided a hideout to arrest human trafficker Muhammad Latif. Ten armed men, including Riaz, Ehsan and Abbas, attacked the team and prevented Latif’s arrest.

The suspects fled before the FIA team could seek reinforcement.

The Daska Sadar police are investigating.

CASE: Anti-Corruption Establishment Deputy Director Maqsood Ahmed Lone has said the ACE has registered a fraud case against Pasrur revenue department’s 24 officials.

Mr Lone told newsmen on Saturday these officials had illegally transferred 17 acres of farmer Muhammad Illyas at Pasrur’s Padhiyaar village to some other place.

He said a case had been registered under sections 50/02/47, 420, 468 and 470 of the PPC.

He denied that the Pasrur AC, tehsildar and other officials were nominated in the FIR. He said the ACE was investigating the case.—Correspondent
