ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf assured a parliamentary delegation of minorities on Wednesday that no one would be allowed to misuse the law.

While talking to the parliamentary delegation representing minorities at Prime Minister's Chamber in the Parliament House, Raja said that the government was committed to protecting the life of every citizen and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that minorities enjoy the same respect and dignity as other citizens of the state.

The delegation apprised the Prime Minister of issues facing the minorities and thanked the government for constituting a committee headed by Federal Minister for Political Affairs Moula Bakhsh Chandio to look into the grievances of minorities.

The Prime Minister told the delegation that the government had received the recommendations of the committee, which would be given due consideration.

Those, who called on the Prime Minister, included Minister for Political Affairs Moula Bakhsh Chandio, Minister of State for National Harmony Akram Masih Gill, Senators Heman Dass, Amarjeet and Hari Ram, MNAs Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan, Ramesh Lal, Lal Chand, Dr Mahesh Kumar Melani, Dr Darshan, Dr. Nelson Azeem, Dr. Araish Kumar and Munawar Lal.
