KHAIRPUR: Two cyclists die in accident

KHAIRPUR, Dec 20: Two cyclists were killed and another was injured as their cycle was hit by a van near Ranipur on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Lal Dino, 22, and Huzoor Bukhsh, 20.

The injured, Raheem Khan, was admitted to a Ranipur hospital.

WOMEN: Khairpur District Nazim Nafeesa Shah has said that the feudal lords have denied the women of their rights and the women are barred from getting education in their society.

She was speaking at a seminar about status of women in the society, organized here on Friday.

She said that the women would not feel secure until education was imparted to them.

She called for measures to provide education, health and employment opportunities to women.

ARRESTED: The Tando Masti police arrested two members of a gang of motorcycle robbers near Kolab Jial on Thursday.

Three armed men snatched a motorcycle (KG-842) from Bux Shanbhani at the Rafique Mahessar link road. When they tried to escape, a police party chased them. The robbers opened fire on the police.

After a brief encounter, police was able to arrest two robbers — Abdul Sattar and Gulzar.
