LAHORE, July 11: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables worth Rs2.9 million during five hits in the city on Wednesday.

Four armed men barged in the house of Arham in Johar Town, held family members at gunpoint and took away cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.

Three robbers stormed into the house of Sabir in Iqbal Town police limits and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Some robbers burst into the house of Mumtaz in Shahdara police limits and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.

Some gun-toting men entered the house of Javed in Shafeeqabad police limits and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs300,000.Thieves broke into the house of Tanveer in Sitara Colony in Factory Area police limits and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.

Fire: Valuables worth Rs280,000 were reduced to ashes in two fire incidents in the provincial capital on Wednesday.

A fire broke out in the shop of Ahmad Naveed due to a short circuit on Main Ferozepur Road, burning down valuables worth Rs200,000.

An electronics shop caught fire because of a short circuit at Umer Block of Iqbal Town, gutting generators and UPS worth Rs80,000.

Rescue 1122 controlled the blaze. — Staff Reporter
