CHITRAL, July 11: Eight people died and four others sustained serious injuries when a jeep carrying them from Upper Dir to Chitral fell into a deep ravine near Mirkhani village here on Wednesday, police and hospital sources said.

They said that the dead included driver Gul Badshah and Rafiqullah of Upper Dir, Mohammad Adil and Raz Mohammad of Peshawar, Nasir of Mardan and Hazrat Hussain of Chitral, while names of two others could not be ascertained till filing of this report. Local police said that reckless driving caused the accident.

Medical superintendent of district headquarters hospital, Chitral, Dr. Noorul Isalm said that two of the injured were in precarious condition. — Correspondent
