QUETTA: Action by police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday resulted in the recovery of a huge amount of explosives and communication equipment, DawnNews reported.

According to security sources  a vehicle of the LEAs was on routine patrol on Zarghoon road when a suspicious car by the security personnel.

Police found the car's trunk laden with explosives, upon conducting a search of the vehicle.

FC personnel took the car into custody and arrested the driver.

The bomb disposal squad reached the spot and defused the bomb.

Acting on the information provided by the arrested suspect, security personel conducted a search operation  and recovered a huge quantity of explosives, hand grenades, detonators and walky-talky communication sets, whereas another suspected was taken under arrest.

During initial investigations, the suspects confessed that the explosives were intended to be used to target government sites and key personalities.
