KARACHI: Pakistan’s new prime minister Monday condemned cross-border attacks from Afghanistan and said he would discuss the matter with President Hamid Karzai, a day after at least six Pakistani soldiers were killed in an incursion.
“Pakistan has strongly protested with Afghanistan on the cross-border attacks and I will also take up this issue with Karzai,” Raja Pervez Ashraf told reporters in Karachi.
His office did not elaborate on when such a conversation might take place.
Earlier on Monday, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik had expressed his grievances to Afghanistan over the militant attack on Pakistani security personnel in Upper Dir area.
Malik had contacted the Afghan Interior Minister to submit his complaint over the incident, blaming Afghan authorities for not preventing the cross border movement of militants into Pakistan.
