ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has taken notice of the electricity load shedding and the protests related to it and has directed immediate rectifying steps.

The prime minister directed the Minister for Water and Power and Minister for Petroleum to take steps on emergency basis to control load shedding by increasing power generation.

Prime Minister Gilani, who is in Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, is expected to return this evening to personally review the situation.

He will chair an energy conference on Tuesday.
