ISLAMABAD, June 10: As part of its protest campaign against the government, the opposition Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) will hold a sit-in outside the Presidency and the Prime Minister’s House on Monday evening, Dawn has learnt.

Interestingly, a number of PML-N legislators when contacted expressed ignorance about the protest plan, saying they had only learnt about it through the media.

Both houses of parliament will resume the debate on the new budget on Monday evening after a two-day recess.

After adjournment of the National Assembly session on Friday, Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had announced that the opposition would intensify its protest campaign from next week and the PML-N legislators would stage a sit-in outside the Presidency and the PM House against corruption, price-hike and power outages.

Chaudhry Nisar alleged that both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani were corrupt and therefore could not lead the nation.
