KARACHI: Campaign against plastic bags

KARACHI, Dec 11: The Defence Housing Authority administration has launched a vigorous campaign against the use of polythene and plastic bags.

Administrator DHA Brig Asif Ghazali, inaugurating the campaign on Monday, termed it a crusade and called upon the DHA residents to make the campaign a success through their active participation.

The administrator highlighted the hazards of polythene bags and said they constituted a big threat to the environment and were extremely injurious to health.

He said polythene bags were made of imperishable and non-biodegradable material and as such choked sewerage system causing overflow of gutters and pollution of environment.—APP
