KARACHI, May 6: Six robbers barged into the home of a local businessman in the PECHS area early Sunday morning, took his family hostage at gunpoint and walked away with cash, gold and other valuables.

It was around 4am when the bandits broke into the home situated in PECHS Block 6. “They appeared to be familiar with every nook and cranny of my house, because they took out my revolver stashed under the bed,” the businessman told Dawn.

He said they held his family hostage at gunpoint and also beat up his children. Then they collected gold ornaments, a diamond ring, perfumes, two cellphones, his revolver and Rs40,000 and escaped, he added.

The incident was later reported to the police and the businessman lodged a case (FIR No 152/2012) at the Tipu Sultan police station.—Staff Reporter
