QUETTA, April 27: At least four gunmen were killed in a clash with security forces near Turbat area of Kech district on Friday.

Security personnel arrested seven men after an exchange of fire which continued for over five hours and seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

Official sources said the clash took place after the Frontier Corps personnel launched a search operation on the basis of information about presence of armed men in Ghybon area near Turbat town.

The gunmen opened fire on the FC personnel who fired back and cordoned off a school where the assailants had taken positions. The sources said that heavy weapons were used by both sides and four gunmen were killed.

Their bodies were taken to the Turbat district hospital where they were identified as Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Adam, Mohammad Hasan and Mohammad Ali. —Saleem Shahid
