GILGIT: The curfew imposed in Gilgit was temporarily lifted on Tuesday after the situation in the city appeared to have improved, DawnNews reported. Authorities have planned to lift the curfew for 12 hours on a daily basis.

Earlier on Monday, the curfew was relaxed from 07:00am to 03:00pm during which the residents purchased food items. Some schools also reopened.

Moreover on Sunday, the curfew was relaxed for six hours.

In order to avoid any untoward situation in the region, the government had banned residents from wearing jackets, shawls and coats, whereas mobile phone services had also been barred from operating there.
