ISLAMABAD: A judicial commission hearing the memo affair has given a last chance to  former ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani to appear before it on the next hearing, DawnNews reported.

The commission led by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa resumed its proceedings at the Islamabad High Court here on Thursday.

While expressing his concerns over government's performance, Isa said that the performance is embarrassment to the nation.

"Our tolerance should not be considered as our weakness,"  he added.

The commission also came hard on prominent lawyer Asma Jehangir for her statements and questioned her official capacity of giving 'controversial statements.

The commission warned Jehangir of disqualification if she continued commenting on the memo commission.

Earlier, Jehangir had said that the commission should tell whether it needs Haqqani’s life or his statement.  She said the commission is showing double standards.

Commenting on concerns shown by Haqqani over his life in Pakistan, Isa said that it was a blow on government’s face and it unveils its incompetency.

Earlier, Former ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani agreed to waive privacy rights to his BlackBerry handsets allegedly used for communicating the controversial memorandum seeking American help to pre-empt a military coup in Pakistan.

The commission has adjourned its proceedings till April 26.
