SUKKUR, Jan 16: Two persons were killed over the pretext of karo-kari in the village of Fahad Khan Panhwar near Jacobabad late on Sunday.

Nooruddin, 25, son of Muhammad Hassan Jakhro Abro of Dera Murad Jamali (Balochistan), came as a guest in the house Liaquat Ali Kehar in the village of Panhwar.

In the night, Liaquat Ali Kehar along with his accomplices opened fire at his wife Ms Janal and later at the guest, killing the two on the spot.

After the incident, an accused, Suleman alias Sardar Kehar, along with the weapon reached Abad police station and confessed to killings.

Police took the bodies to the Civil Hospital in Jacobabad for a post-mortem and later handed them over to the relatives.

Later, Muhammad Hassan Jakhro Abro, father of Nooruddin, reached Abad police station and refused to lodge the FIR against the arrested accused.

However, Mr Abro lodged FIR No: 02/2012 against Liaquat Kehar (husband of Ms Janal), Akram Kehar, and Ranjhan Kehar.

He stated that his son Nooruddin was innocent who had been killed by Liaquat Kehar when he had demanded return of the borrowed money from Liaquat Kehar. He killed the woman to show the case as karokari.

Head writer of the Abad police station told the Jacobabad-based reporters that Sardar Kehar was not the real killer, but he staged a drama. Real killers were Akram and Liaquat Kehar.

He also said Nooruddin and Liaquat Kehar were old friends and used to run a business of cattle head.
