MANSEHRA, Jan 12: Pakistan People's Party, Mansehra, suffered another setback on Thursday when former provincial minister Haq Nawaz Khan resigned from the party membership and announced to join Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf.

Another senior PPP leader Sajid Mumtaz Khan had joined the PTI along with a number of party workers and office-bearers the other day.

Flanked by Mr Mumtaz, Mr Nawaz told a press conference here that he left the PPP because its current leadershiphad deviated from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's philosophy and slogan of 'Roti, Kapra aur Makan'. He said that people were dying because of poverty and hunger and the PPP rulers had been enjoying luxurious life by plundering national resources.

Mr Nawaz said that the PPP workers were being disgraced at the hands of party ministers and coalition partners in centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed that the PTI was the sole party which could pull the country out the prevailing crisis. 'I am joining the PTI along with my supporters,' he said.
