Sindh Whites win in women hockey

LAHORE, Dec 17: Five more matches were decided in the 27th National Women Hockey Championship here on Saturday.

In a tough match of the day, Sindh Whites defeated Punjab Whites 4-3 after taking 3-1 lead in the first half of the play.

For Sindh Whites, Sumaiya (2), Mehreen (1) and Madihia (1) were the main scorers.

Mehwish, Ayesha and Iqra shared the goal equally for the losing side. In a high-scoring match, Army toppled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 16-0. Army led the first half 7-0.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) carved out 8-0 win against Sindh Colours.

In another match, Punjab Colours outplayed Balochistan 5-0 after a 3-0 lead in the first half. Tahmeena, Sidra Younis, Iqra, Iram and Mayda earned one goal each.

In another match between Wapda and Railways — possible finalists of the tournament — the former stamped its authority over the latter with 3-0 victory. —Sports Reporter
