KARACHI, Nov 17: The Nazim of Karachi, Naimatullah Khan, has announced that an overhead bridge would be constructed at Hassan Square roundabout, University Road, whereas the reconstruction of the road would be started soon to make it a quality thoroughfare for commuters.

He made the announcement while addressing an iftar party, hosted by the elected representatives of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town. a press release issued here on Sunday said.

The Nazim said that every city and country was facing problems pertaining to law and order and it was not justified to single out Karachi on this issue.

The Nazim of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Abdul Wahab, speaking on the occasion, said that 12,000 street lights would soon be installed in the town to address the problem of dark streets.

He reaffirmed his pledge to make Gulshan-i-Iqbal a model town. He said that the construction of a customer service centre would start during the next six months.—APP
