KARACHI, Nov 5: Pakistan’s hockey squad, which defeated world champions Australia in the tri-nation tournament final recently in Perth, returned here Friday night.

Led by seasoned Shakeel Abbasi, Pakistan recorded a sensational upset in the final, beating the hosts 4-3 to claim the title. India was the third team which featured in the event.

The title triumph against the world champions is a good sign for the green-shirts, especially considering the fact that they would be featuring in next month’s Champions Trophy.—Agencies
