KARACHI, Oct 19: Baqar H. Kamani beat Sajid Vali 4-2 in the final to win the Karachi Club Open Snooker Challenge at the KC billiards hall on Tuesday.

Baqar’s triumph was aided by two breaks of 46 and 39 in the third and sixth frames of the best of seven final. Final scores were 56-76, 68-31, 80-31, 39-67, 65-31, 59-24.

Earlier, Baqar chalked up 4-1 victory over Asad Kamani (25-56, 52-35, 65-53, 82-41, 73-51) to set up a final with Sajid, who accounted for Salman Merchant 4-2 (9-50, 84-52, 73-52, 69-33, 12-57, 71-35).

Baqar received a winning purse of Rs8,000 while Sajid got runner-up prize of Rs6,000. The losing semi-finalists were awarded Rs2,500 apiece while Rs1,000 apiece were distributed to losing quarter-finalists.

Ali Aqeel Suria who chalked up highest break of 54 received Rs1,000.
