PESHAWAR, Oct 2: An elderly prisoner committed suicide by jumping into an abandoned well in Peshawar Central Jail on Sunday morning. The sexagenarian prisoner identified as Ajab Khan was an Afghan national and his family presently resides in Landi Kotal area of Khyber Agency.
He was convicted by tribal administration on charges of killing his brother.
He was sentenced to serve 14-year imprisonment and pay Rs500,000 as diyyat. —Bureau Report
