District officer administration Dr Abdul Razzaq Junejo told that 1,065 gastroenteritis cases have been reported at government hospitals and camps since the beginning of monsoon rains a fortnight ago.

He said several teams of doctors tried to reach areas in Kachho belt where gastroenteritis had spread but terminated their journey because of inundated roads. However, they were trying to find alternate routes.

Some 7,500 patients were treated at medical camps established at Flood Protective Bund and Wahi Pandhi town, said Dr Razzak.
